Luau Recap

We held our annual Back to School Luau last week and had a historic turn-out! Students and their families had a tower-climbing, hula-hooping, face-painting, balloon-twisting, relay-racing good time! Not to mention the games, food, crafts, and entertainment!

We love our East Elementary community and had such a great time with you! Thank you for coming out and enjoying the beautiful weather and good times with us.

Senora Bryant (pictured below) and fellow dancers of Herencia Hispana entertained us with amazing moves, twirling dresses, dazzling smiles and even a grito or two!

A night like this is not an easy undertaking. We are so very grateful to our tireless activity chair Lydia Howard for all her work. She is amazingly organized. Volunteers from Cedar High School’s girls volleyball team, the Canyon View High School Talons, the National Guard, Herencia Hispana, members of our PTA, parents and community members came together to provide all the hands we needed to put on a great party.

And of course, we must mention our donors, whose generosity made this event even possible!

The kids say it best:

After wonderful night like that, it brings a Maori proverb to mind:

He aha te mea nui o te ao
He tangata, he tangata, he tangata

What is the most important thing in the world?

It is the people, it is the people, it is the people.
