Spring 2018 Activites and Events

We have great clubs and programs for students who would like to take their learning and fun to the next level.

  • 4-H = Tuesdays 3:30 – 5:00
    • The 4-H After School Program helps youth with homework with the help of SUU students, we do fun activities and meaningful lessons, and we provide a little snack. Once a month we have our Family Night Out, where all the youth in our after school programs in Cedar City come with their families and we provide a free dinner and a fun activity.kids-girl-pencil-drawing-159823.jpeg
The after school program at East Elementary is taking 4th and 5th graders. We have mentors that speak Spanish if the child is in the dual immersion program. To enroll the youth in the program, parents need to contact Sam Burgess: Samantha.Burgess@usu.edu

  • Choir    Starting February 12th. Watch for details.

  • Micbrobots
    • East Elementary’s Lego League Team is called the Microbots. We have ten 4th and 5th graders who are building robots, programming robots, learning about Hydrodynamics (the Lego League theme this year), and learning how to be an effective team.  The Hydrodynamic problem the team decided to focus on is Cedar Valley’s aquifer. The team has discovered Cedar Valley uses more water each year than the aquifer has, so the area needs to conserve water. The team is now looking at different ways to conserve water and is trying to find a solution to this problem. The team members have lots of good ideas.microbots
